Vogue is a fashion Magazine that been established since 1892. The magazine focuses on fashion and lifestyle. Vogue has become so popular around the world, that each multiple countries has their own branch of the magazine. The countries include Italy, Mexico, and Japan. In the United States, 1,242,282 copies are distributed to their loyal subscribers.
Advertisements that occupy the first couple of pages in the spread are for designer brands such as Prada, Gucci, and Lancome. They take up two pages, and feature one whole picture on both pages.The products they were advertising were either perfumes, makeup, or the last fashion line that the company had released. Towards the middle of the magazine there were a vast variety advertisements. This included an ad for the Samsung 8 phone.
The cover of Vogue covers change month to month. Every new cover has an new innovate style. However, if I were to categorize them, it would have to be editorial and then natural, There are head shots of celebrities with lighter makeup. Then there are covers with crazy colorful makeup and an extreme outfit. The font on the cover is basic because all of the attention is supposed to be drawn to the photo. Coloring of the font is white, because it is not distracting to the eye.
Something that needs to be noted about Vogue is that there was a movie that was based off of Vogue headquarters in New York is The Devil Wears Prada. The editor and chief is Anna Wintour. She is infamous for being very hard to impress. She has been head of Vogue for years and completely transformed the brand to peak journalism. By restoring the journalism to columns with honesty and integrity and doing stories that have substance. Such as bringing back political commentary in each issue.
