Creaive Critical Reflection question 1

My Creative Critical Reflection

1. How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?

My Magazine Entitled "Fashion Forward SRQ" represents multiple social groups. It applies to women and possible members of the LGBT community that have an interest in fashion and beauty. The cover of my magazine is very convectional with having a single model on the cover posing that focuses on natural beauty and the model. Rather than the clothes or editorial makeup which would usually be found inside of the issue.

"Fashion Forward SRQ" actually challenges conventions of my genre (fashion) because of the articles I have in the issue. One specifically is the article "Country Club Chic." The article focused on a young powerful women in my community. Lily Sikorski just happens to be a golfer. Female athletes are becoming more and more common to see as the face on the cover of a magazine other than sports magazines. However, it is still not the norm, so I wanted to do something original. The female empowerment movement is growing rapidly around the world. I wanted to incorporate it into my magazine. It challenges the issue that women are more than pretty faces, and can be smart and confident as well.
