Question 3 How did your production skills develop throughout the process?
I believe that my production skills evolved throughout creating my project. First off, my understanding on how important Angles are to create captivating pictures improved tremendously. Instead of just shoot straight on the subject, it is better to get a high, low, or canted angle. The subject looks more interesting, and that is what sells magazines. For example, when I was doing a photoshoot for my magazine cover. I used a milk bath and had the model in my bathtub and surrounded her with flowers. Then I stood on the edge of the tub and was overtop of the water and model to take the pictures. The angle made the image turn out really cool and more interesting. Not to mention very sleek and professional. After copious amounts of research, I could see an image like mine in a fashion magazine today.
When I first started designing my magazine. The layout was very basic and disorganized. I was definitely something you would not see in a magazine in stores. My article was a single column. The pictures where just in the middle of the page. There were no page numbers. With lots of revisions, I have improved the layout of my magazine tremendously. My article now has 2 columns. The pictures placed in proper spaces. A better use of fonts, to make the articles and captions stand out and pop on the page. Also using different colors of fonts, that coordinate with the photographs, once again helps contribute to the professionalism and sleek look. I utilized this technique on my cover
